Space 32 – An emergent creative space based in South Yarra.

A not for profit artist run initiative, Space 32 is designed to be a space that provides opportunities for artists and communities to produce and participate in a creative exchange of contemporary urban art. We are here to help encourage emerging and established artists, people from diverse backgrounds, and the local and wider communities.

Initially located in a factory site in South Yarra. Space 32 comprises a large open multi-purpose space for visual and performance art activities, several offices provide facilities for administration and meeting rooms. Early priority will be in creating useable and flexible facilities.

Space 32 is a local Melbourne indigenous artist run not for profit initiative sponsored by the Boon Wurrung Foundation.

The concept of Space 32 was created by Jarra Steel and Boon Wurrung Elder Carolyn Briggs who had a dream of a creative art space that was inclusive and accessible for all of the local and wider community of Melbourne.
Our dream for Space 32 is:
• A space where contemporary art, ideas and new ways of looking at culture can be shared and celebrated.
• A space where talented local emerging artists, have a way of sharing their art with the community.
• A social space where collaboration can occur.
• A space for the local community can engage in art and learn new skills.
• A space to help encourage emerging and established artists, people from diverse backgrounds, and the local and wider communities

We thank The Boon Wurrung Foundation and our many supporters for making this opportunity available to us and in particular all those at the City of Stonnington for their kind assistance.
